I obtained an MSc in Immunology at the University of Oxford, and am currently reading for a MPhil in Environment, Society and Development at the University of Cambridge, where my course focuses on environmental policy and sustainable development in developing countries. I chose to do my dissertation on farmer adoption of sustainable agricultural practices, as I think food security is going to be one of the greatest challenges we're going to face, as our current methods of production are both environmentally and economically unsustainable. I plan to apply my background in health, environment, and development to the markets, and am particularly interested in market based mechanisms for promoting sustainable business operations.
I have founded and run an award winning social enterprise known as GreenCycle that promotes the reuse and recycling of second hand and abandoned cycles within the University of Oxford. I have a keen interest in both social entrepreneurship and investing, and am eager to compare the difference in perspectives across the Atlantic having been previously involved in social enterprise in both UK and India.
