Ross Baird

Ross Baird is the Executive Director of Village Capital,  which builds world-changing companies through the power of peer support and putting the capital in the hands of entrepreneurs themselves.  Ross has developed the Village Capital model and launched nine programs with partners, in cities including London (Impact Venture Labs), Sao Paolo (Artemisia), Boulder (Unreasonable Institute), Mumbai (Dasra-Social Impact), and the Bay Area (Hub Ventures).  Village Capital programs have supported over 100 entrepreneurs and invested over $1M in seed-stage companies.

Ross also is affiliated with First Light Ventures, a seed impact investment fund, where he has helped build a portfolio of over 20 enterprises, and sits on the advisory board of Drop the Chalk and Sanghata Global.  He has on the ground experience working for the Indian School Finance Company in Hyderabad, India.  H has a MPhil in Government from the University of Oxford, where he was a Marshall Scholar, and a BA from the University of Virginia, where he was a Jefferson and Truman Scholar.
